Carpets we recommend for multi-unit dwellings, high end residential and hotels:
PART 2: CARPET TILES
The international trend of using carpet tiles in residential settings might feel odd to us at our end of the world, but it is a fast-growing trend that makes a lot of sense. If a tile is damaged, simply replace it. It’s a great eco-friendly solution when you think about it that way, as well as being incredibly convenient and cost-effective.
We have a few favourites.
Gleam is the aptly named luxury cut pile tile range from modulyss.
With 27 colours of subtle shimmer to choose from, Gleam uses a combination of matt and glossy yarn to create a richness and sheen that’s soft to the touch. Choose one colour, or mix it up.
Made from 100% recycled nylon yarn that’s 100% sustainable, the total height is a silky 9.5mm.
DSGN Absolute is a great option for multi-residential projects from modulyss. Absolute features a subtle contrast of two tones, offering a unique nuanced look. The loop pile design comes in 16 colours. (See hero bedroom image)
Bentley’s Paris Tweed is also popular as a tile for residential. Design concepts include using the same colour for tiles throughout an apartment and breaking up corridors and common areas by introducing colour accents. There is more information on the European origins of the Paris Tweed design in our companion blog on broadlooms for multi-resi.
Off the Chain from Bentley mimics the highs and lows of chain stitches. The tufted, textured loop offers a gorgeous texture in 12 colour ways – and it does come in broadloom as well as tile.
Root is another from Bentley’s Meiso collection. A tufted, textured, solution-dyed loop with a tone-on-tone pattern that you can have fun with as a residential tile. 12 colour ways to play with. (Root is also available in broadloom, with Elite Flex impervious backing for extra performance for higher wear zones like receptions, accessways and common areas)
