About Miranda
Miranda Brown’s creative practice inspires people to reflect and connect with nature.
With a degree in textile science, Miranda has an extensive background as an artist and textile designer, recognised for her craftsmanship in the film industry as a textile artist and national and international acclaim for her sustainable fashion brand held in a collection at Te Papa Museum.
Miranda’s unique art and biophilic design offerings include a range of textiles, wallpaper and commissioned works for interiors and the built environment. Her portfolio includes residential, workplace, hospital, hotels and public spaces, including Burwood Hospital Christchurch and Public Art in New Lynn, Auckland.
The evolution into carpets for Miranda Brown expands on a bespoke interior catalogue, taking the visual language of papers and fabrics into flooring, and is the next step in telling nature’s story.
The Miranda Brown Aesthetic
As an Artist and Biophilic Designer, Miranda tells visual stories that reflect New Zealand’s cultural and natural heritage. Her designs connect people to nature, elevate mood and well-being and celebrate the interconnectedness of life.
Miranda’s design focus is the flora and fauna of Aotearoa and the patterns in nature known as sacred geometry.

Miranda Brown has been a leader in the sustainable design movement in New Zealand for the past two decades, driven by regenerative design principles that look after nature and all life.
