Econa uses ECONYL® 100% regenerated nylon yarn, reborn as new from waste, including discarded fishing nets, industrial waste and old carpets that would otherwise be pollutants. ECONYL® is a cradle-to-cradle product, which means it is endlessly recyclable in a closed loop. Making carpet locally reduces carbon impact, as importing the yarn rather than ready-made soft flooring means less volume and less weight to transport. It also means supporting local manufacturers – a win/win in our book.
“For every 10,000 tons of ECONYL® raw materials that are created, 65,100 tons of CO2 emissions are avoided and 70,000 barrels of crude oil are saved. Using ECONYL® nylon has the potential to reduce the global warming impact of nylon by up to 90% compared with the material generated from oil. ECONA CUT PILE
Econa Cut Pile broadloom/roll carpet is available in 2 weights: 48oz (6kg) or 64oz (8kg).
The regenerated nylon is solution-dyed, so it is as durable, stain-resistant, colour-fast and UV-resistant as you’d expect.
The Cut Pile yarn has a tight twist, reducing tracking and shading when compared to loose cut pile carpets while retaining a sense of softness and luxury.
There are 8 colours in the palette, 4 warm and 4 cooler tones, in shades from cream to deep earth, and shades of grey through to black.
