Miranda is an internationally acclaimed textile designer and artist with a wealth of experience creating for interiors and the built environment. Her sustainable values and biophilic design principles make her the perfect choice to design rugs and carpets that we are proud to make available to you.
Miranda’s designs connect people to nature for their well-being through colours and patterns that elevate mood and celebrate the interconnectedness of life.
Our years of experience in producing custom rugs and broadlooms means a marriage of creativity, experience and skill that guarantees products of the highest quality.
THE NATURE COLLECTION
“We are excited to offer a unique, locally designed range that has a profound connection to New Zealand, and an opportunity for interior designers to co-create with Miranda to tell stories that resonate,” explains Umesh, the owner-operator of Heritage Carpets.
Miranda says, “Essentially, my art is all about connecting people to the beauty of nature to enhance well-being and to inspire people to look after our natural world. My focus is the flora and fauna of Aotearoa and the patterns held within nature’s design known as sacred geometry.”
The Nature Collection has three key design concepts:
– Universal Connection: represents the rhythmic, seasonal lattice of life, a universal cultural weave of interconnectedness
– Seed: reflects the growth of a bud opening, expanding and energising, like the wonder of the spiralling fronds of the New Zealand native fern
– Emerald Garden: a story of regeneration, using symbols for the tree of life (Akatoki plant), potential (chalice) and the higher self (dove)
Select designs are available in varied scales and sizes, with Seed available as a round rug. All designer rugs are available as stunning broadlooms. All come in 4 standard colourways.
The Nature Collection designer rugs are 100% hand-tufted New Zealand wool, the broadlooms are 80/20 New Zealand wool-rich Axminster.
Custom rug colours and sizes and custom Axminster broadloom are available.
Miranda can work with you to create fully bespoke designs.
